Synopsis

Having had more than his fair share of bad luck with the ladies, thrice-widowed Ben Cartwright (Lorne Green) and his three sons—each having a different mother—navigate the Western frontier. With Cartwright and his sons possessing personalities ranging from sophisticated to hotheaded, the dynamic between the men serves as the show's focal point, differentiating it from the typical life-on-the-range Western.
