Synopsis
Hoping for adventure abroad in the U.S. Marine Corps, the naive and simple Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors) leaves his country home in Mayberry, North Carolina. But unable to properly adapt to the strictness of military life, Pyle's new environment provides many opportunities for mischief, and he never fails to exasperate his drill instructor, Sergeant Carter (Frank Sutton). The series was a spinoff of 'The Andy Griffith Show.'
